JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: This position is responsible for the design and implementation of work cells in machining and assembly, maintaining standard work per KPS guidelines. Essential Functions: Responsible for process improvements and daily manufacturing engineering support to the plant floor Provide technical support for manufacturing cells in a manufacturing environment Champion for introduction of new products to plant’s Machining & Assembly operation Responsible for continuous improvement activities of the plant’s machining/assembly processes Design and implement mistake proofing devices in the production floor. Develop and prepare capital projects to implement process improvements Participate and support Lean manufacturing and KPS activities Primary responsible for PFMEA linkage and flow‑down activities Responsible for maintaining process documentation Responsible for SAP Work centers, routings and production versions loading and maintenance Has the authority to stop the production and/or shipment in case the quality of the product is compromised, in order to request the help needed to solve the problem. Ensure customer requirements are met Knows and communicates the need for product safety. Performs all those activities that by the nature of the position are required. Management & Supervisory Responsibilities: Reports to plant engineering Manager. Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees. Co‑ops or students may report to this position. > Knowledge: Computer aided design Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (hands‑on) Time and motion study and improvement, work balancing Failure mode and effect analysis Good knowledge of automation systems Measurement systems analysis Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Problem solving and Six Sigma methodologies DMAIC methodology Data analysis and problem solving Experience: Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering fields.
