Incumbent is attending a formal University or College Internship program from a recognized University or College. Work is guided by detailed instructions, routines, and procedures. Works under close supervision and receives detailed instructions on all work assignments. May work autonomously once proficiency in the tasks is achieved. May be given more complex duties as proficiency is gained. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members with guidance.**Detailed Description**:Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:- Fulfills requirements of University or College Internship program in a Operations function whereby the duties are categorized as "Direct" labour associated directly with the manufacturing process.- Duties fulfill the requirements of the specific internship program.**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:- Enrolled in a formal University or college Internship program.**Physical Demands**:- Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.- Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.- Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.- Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.- Above demands are carried out within the company and statutory health and safety guidelines.**Typical Experience**:- No formal experience is required.**Typical Education**:- University or College program in progress- Education experience may vary by geography.**Notes**:Celestica is an equal opportunity employer.
