General Accounting Specialist

As a General Accounting Specialist, you will help provide essential financial support and safeguarding PPG’s assets. You will meticulously monitor trial balance data, conduct account analyses, and ensure that accounting records are posted and follow standards. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic direction of G/L accounting processes, ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Your expertise will help address general ledger issues, participating in process improvement projects, and preparing journal entries. To succeed in this role, you have a degree in Accounting or Finance, ERP system knowledge, and a commitment to improvement.**Main Responsibilities**- Communication with internal clients and departments (payables, treasury, general ledger, fixed assets) and other operating areas in the business.- Address minimum general ledger issues/concerns related to existing/new Finance with supervisor´s guidance.- Answer general accounting questions related to transactions being posted.- Account reconciliation procedures.- Participate in process improvement meeting projects and support other management directives as prescribed.- Support business process improvement and transitions.- Journal entries preparation, finance data collection.**Qualifications**- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Business, or related).- Previous experience in 2-3 years.- PPG Business general knowledge.- Knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle).- Evaluate financial statements.- Expertise in reconciling GL accounts, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues.- Excel Skills**About us**:**PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD****The PPG Way**Every day at PPG:**We partner with customers to create mutual value.****We are "One PPG" to the world.****We trust our people every day, in every way.****We make it happen.****We run it like we oversee it.****We do better today than yesterday - everyday.**Benefits will be discussed with you by your recruiter during the hiring process.PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
