Trade Compliance Spec

The role of the Trade Compliance Specialist is to ensure that Sensata Operations are in compliance for fiscal, customs and all additional related legal regulations in Mexico and other countries for import and export purposesGeneral Responsibilities - Execute annual Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and reporting - Coordinate the update of control narratives with process owners - Partner with external auditors to effectively design and assess controls as needed - Assists in completion of process walkthroughs including coordination of deadlines with external auditors and business personnel - Assist with the coordination and supervision of guest auditors as and when utilized for testing - Assists with executing on all phases of audit projects and compliance reviews including planning, testing and reporting - Work with management to understand business processes, resolve issues, and communicate findings to the Audit Director - Participate in special assignments or ad hoc projects as deemed necessary by leadership - Maintain continuous development regarding knowledge around regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards Experience / Qualifications - A university degree and 0-2 years of experience (i.e. Bachelors degree) - Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands - Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation - Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results - Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity - Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards - Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) - Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers- Analyze and execute all processes related to the import and export operation.- Ensure the correct invoicing process in the Annex 24.- Ensure the correct Customs regime in the import and export operation according to the type of material and Purchase Order.- Provide the Customs Broker with the correct and complete required paperwork that supports the customs operation.- Ensure the reliability, integrity, and accuracy of data registration according to each customs operation.- Ensure the optimization of the customs operation cost and escalate any potential issue when needed.- Keep open and effective communication with the rest of the Trade Compliance team and other Sensata departments to determine the correct strategy and solutions according to the case when needed.- Refresh the knowledge in regulations, best practices, automation, techniques and performance standards each time that they are updated.- Ensure compliance of all procedures, policies, goals and standards related to Security, Human Resources and Trade Compliance.Experience and Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in customs operation.- General knowledge of customs laws.- Writing and Speaking Intermediate or higher English language skills.- Management of Microsoft Office software.- Experience managing Annex 24 is a plus.- Must be a resilient team player capable of working in a demanding operating environment- Complying the Mexican Law, same as following the internal politics and conduct code under professional ethical values and integrity is a must.- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with different stakeholders related to customs operation.SmarterTogether- Collaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world’s most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thing- Employees work across functions, countries and cultures gaining new perspectives through mutual respect and open communication- As OneSensata, we are working together to make things work togetherClick here to viewSensata Recruitment Privacy StatementClick here to view ourSensata Recruitment Privacy Statement for China
