Acquiring those products—in the right place, at the right time, for the right cost and using the latest e-sourcing techniques—is the responsibility of our procurement team. This role could be a fit for you, if you're:- Motivated to achieve challenging goals- Accountable for delivering results- Skilled at negotiating with suppliers**Specifically, as an E&T Buyer, you can expect to**:- Execute and develop a strategic sourcing plan for a family of parts within E&T.- Negotiate with facts and data on supplier pricing issues.- Update supply statuses of critical part numbers to the E&T product list.- Coordinate Control Towers on critical assurance of supply risks.- Perform rapid escalation of recovery and shipping roadblocks.- Track execution of Interim corrective action (ICA)/Permanent corrective action (PCA) improvement plans- Aggregate associated AOS information for monthly Sales and Order Planning (S+OP)**Major Role**: This role will coordinate information flow between multiple workgroups including category, supply chain, engineering, product group, cross vertical teams, and report this in a concise manner at a leadership level.This individual will drive a continuous lean improvement process to identify, report, track, and action where applicable on key assurance of supply issues.This position will align to key Business Unit KPI’s specifically around Build Plans and underlying KPI’S that enable those targets to be achieved. Leveraging the skill sets and execution knowledge to help the Product Groups develop optimal and executable value chains.**To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic Qualifications)**:- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or Engineering- 5+ years of job-related industry experience- Job related experience includes the following: procurement, supply chain, project management, analysis and metrics reporting, consultancy, or engineering.- Fluent English- Well-developed interpersonal skills are required in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy.- Effective communicator, in written and oral form- Experience with Lognet, MACH 1, and/or CBS systems- Understanding of company policies and procedures related to manufacturing, engineering, and/or procurement**The Caterpillar Code of Conduct states that we will select and place employees based on their qualifications for the job to be performed, without regard to race, religion, national origin, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
