**Career Area**:Purchasing & Procurement**Caterpillar Resource Industries Supply Management has an opening for a Hydraulic Component Category Buyer. The Buyer will provide support & leadership to the supply base in the execution of regular supplier performance management reviews, quotations, purchase agreements, price changes, and capacity planning. This role will be responsible for the global component source strategy and provide commercial leadership to the product engineering and facility teams. The Buyer will develop suppliers to meet corporate and business unit requirements for a high performing, certified supply network.**Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:- Responsible and accountable for development, communication and implementation of a global sourcing strategy- Manage policies, agreements, source strategies, and special purchasing programs- Supporting New Product Introduction programs- Provide leadership for sourcing, logistics and resource management decisions- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and new product introduction activities within Purchasing- Collaborate with Product Buyers and Engineering teams across the organization**Basic Qualifications**:- 3-5 years experience in purchasing, supply chain, or engineering- 3-5 years direct purchasing experience with hydraulic components- Well-developed interpersonal skills in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions.- Extremely strong negotiator, able to interpret, analyze and negotiate contractual cost elements- Effective communicator, in written and oral form- Functional leadership.
