Baker Corporate Services provides engineering, operations, and accounting support to Baker Electric and Baker Electric Home Energy. Located in Tijuana Mexico, the BCS team will perform work that supports the successful completion of residential, commercial and industrial construction projects in the United States. We are committed to ensuring an ethical and inclusive work environment.**SUMMARY**: The Junior Design Engineer will be responsible for reviewing PV layout, 3D models, and Site conditions to ensure that prescribed activities are documented in accordance with Baker Home Energy’s specified objectives for the successful permitting, procurement, and completion of the project.The Junior Design Engineer will assist in designing residential projects, creating 3D models using the Aurora and Solargraf software. The role involves working with permit drafting, understanding local requirements, and collaborating with the BCS, BHE, and Streamline Solar Engineering teams. The JDE will also perform basic engineering calculations to ensure all designs meet industry standards.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**: Duties may include, but not limited to:- Provide expertise with residential projects and incorporate into high level system design work.- Create drawings for proposed rooftop and ground-mount systems.- Render New Construction 3D models using a Plan set.- Create SUNation proposals using the Aurora software. Deliver Shade/production report, and a CAD drawing to SUNation Energy.- Design EV Permits for the Service department.- Understand local jurisdictional requirements in and around Southern California, Arizona and New York, as they pertain to the design and installation of solar and Energy Storage Systems.- Perform engineering calculations per the NEC and building codes to properly size equipment.- Follow standard operating procedures and protocol to ensure accuracy of design layouts.- Site-specific production analysis of PV arrays using existing industry models.- Ensure that all industry requirements are being met.- Other Duties as assigned**EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE**:- Solar industry experience preferred but not required.- AutoCAD and/or Sketch-Up experience preferred but not required.- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal communication, project management, task management, and client relations skills.- Travel Visa preferred but not required.- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks required.- A Bachelor of Science, or associate’s degree in engineering or an Industry related discipline is preferred.
