Join the Stoneridge Team as we continue to build upon our strong history and reputation for quality products to deliver innovative products and systems that address a need, exceed our customers’ expectations, and motivate our team.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead and support Engineering activities to new product developments and current production products while interfacing with global customers.- Mechanical design using engineering tools like GD&T, Tolerance stack ups, FEAs, material properties, etc.- Support benchmarking and analysis of competitive products/technologies.- Support team to ensure product design and performance compliance with Stoneridge, regulatory and customer specification.- Work with lead engineer to develop internal performance specifications and support new product development.- Ensures adequate project and technical communications (e.g. meetings, oral reports, technical reports) with Stoneridge personnel, management, suppliers and customers.- Work with Process and Manufacturing Engineering to improve the robustness and manufacturability of new products utilizing Design for Manufacture and Assembly techniques.- Coordinate activities with Sales, Purchasing, Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, and Operations to execute new programs as well as support activities related to in-production products- Create and support in writing/ compiling engineering documentation.- Utilizes knowledge of current procedures, regulations, customer and industry requirements and practices to successfully create, assist in defining product specifications to obtain new business.- Assist and coordinates in identifying, reporting, researching, and resolving customer problems/ concerns.- Perform special assignments as necessary.EDUCATION:Last semesters of engineering (mechanics, mechatronics, electromechanics, industrial design, automotive, etc.)EXPERIENCE:KNOWLEDGE:- Intermediate-advanced English- Basic engineering knowledge:- Dimensional.- Pilot runs.- Reading drawings.- Basic GD&T.- PFMEA / Control plan.SOFT COMPETENCES- Analytical Skills- Decision Making- Teamwork- Work under pressure- Able to communicate and write effectively resulting in a clear understanding of the issues.- Ability to lead effective communication internally as well as with Stoneridge customers and suppliersHARD COMPETENCES- CAD (SolidWorks, Catia, Creo, Nx) any of them- MS office: Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
