Software Engineering Manager Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary software and automation engineering teams in fast‑paced environments. Drive architecture, design, and implementation of software solutions supporting industrial automation and manufacturing systems. Oversee development of high‑level software applications, device drivers, and real‑time PLC logic. Establish and maintain best practices for coding standards, version control, and software lifecycle management. Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems. Support integration of robotics, vision systems, and industrial communication protocols. Ensure system reliability through troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams in multidisciplinary environments. At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with PLC/IPC logic programming, troubleshooting, and configuration. Strong proficiency in object‑oriented programming languages such as C# or Python. Experience with industrial automation, industrial equipment controls, and manufacturing/process environments. Familiarity with microservices‑based software architectures. Proficiency using Git and Git‑based workflows. Working knowledge of Linux operating systems. Experience with industrial communication protocols including TCP/IP, REST APIs, EtherCAT, Ethernet/Profinet, and RS232/422/485. Experience integrating robotics systems and vision/image processing platforms. Proven ability to analyze, debug, and resolve complex technical problems. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Proficient English skills with the ability to communicate effectively with global teams. Preferred (Optional) Experience with Structured Text programming for PLC real‑time device drivers. Exposure to additional industrial protocols such as Modbus, CAN Open, or Profibus. Experience with data collection, analytics, dashboards, and remote monitoring applications.
