Manufacturing Engineer Iii

The Manufacturing Engineer & CNC Programmer is responsible for helping to drive efficiencies through process improvements and the responsible for all CNC programs for manufacturing to directly impact the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division.This position significantly impacts Rexnord’s ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.Key Accountabilities- Utilizes key mechanical design and manufacturing principles to effectively make decisions impacting safety, product quality, delivery and cost- Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation in all forms- Drives root cause corrective actions to reduce non-conformances and improve flow- Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic and safe workstation and tooling designs- Remain current in new Manufacturing Engineering technology, new manufacturing techniques and new equipment. Recommend new approaches where feasible- Lead and participate in Kaizen events based on VSM Roadmaps- Utilizes RBS tools to solve problems and continuously improve.- Promote and facilitate the use/establishment of continuous improvement tools.- Assist in developing and implementing the lean manufacturing action plans to support achievement of strategy deployment and strategic business growth.- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist others in solving problems using problem solving tools such as DMAIC- Develop and implement manufacturing cost out projects.- Assist manufacturing and assembly associates to resolve set-up, tooling and fixture problems, special process (heat treatment, plating and welding) and selection of proper tooling and grinding wheels.- Develop, maintain and implement process routings and set-up instructions for the production of parts and assemblies- Ability to write programs that will machine complex parts to very close tolerances on multiple axes on various machining centers.- Horizontal Machining Centers including Macro, sub program and variable programming knowledge.- 4 axis lathes, 5 axis lathes, Y axis lathes, and Vertical Machining Centers large and small- “Shop Floor” problem solving.- Kaizen participation such as SMDE, VSM, 5s, etc...- Maintain program libraries and revision status of program revisions per NADCAP requirements.- Hands on knowledge of the programs storage and the ability to assist shop associates in uploading and downloading programsDesirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors- BS in Engineering, or related technical field required- A minimum of three years of engineering experience working in a manufacturing plant environment- Experience in industrial technical field, programming CNC equipment is required- At least one year of experience with grinding, turning, and milling machinery- Ability to extract critical data and analyze data to make informed business decisions.- Excellent computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)- Demonstrated proficiency in project management.- Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority- Experience with manufacturing bearings a plus- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus- Excellent computer skills (CAD/CAM, Auto Cad, Shop Cam, Solid Works, Master Cam word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)About Regal Rexnord- The Company’s end markets benefit from meaningful secular demand tailwinds, and include factory automation, food & beverage, aerospace, medical, data center, warehouse, alternative energy, residential and commercial buildings, general industrial, construction, metals and mining, and agriculture.
