How can you make a difference? The Nutrition Officer (NO-1) will report directly to the Chief of Nutrition (P-4) with technical supervision from the Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Specialist (P-3). Their main role is to provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the nutrition programmes and projects. The incumbent will also play a key role in advancing UNICEF’s SBC agenda within nutrition programmes by designing and implementing evidence-based strategies that promote positive nutrition practices—such as optimal breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and healthy diets—through community engagement, advocacy and social and behaviour change approaches. Chief responsibilities Within the delegated authority and the given organizational set‑up, the incumbent may be responsible for all or most of the following areas of major duties and key end results: Support to programme development and planning Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results. Technical and operational support to programme implementation Networking and partnership building Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building For more information related to this position, please review the complete Job Description here: JD Nutrition Officer (NO-1) - SBC.pdf Minimum requirements Education: A university degree (Bachelor's Degree), preferably, in one of the following fields: nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health‑related science field. Work Experience: A minimum of one year of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care. Professional experience in social development programme planning, communication for development or social behaviour change or public advocacy. Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish. Proficiency in English. Desirables Prior work with community engagement, especially with child and adolescent participation. Experience working in school environments. Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development in a UN system agency or organization. Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies. Fluency in English.
