Career Area:Manufacturing & Supply Chain**Job Description**:Job Title for Posting: Product Certification Manager**Job Description**:Position is accountable to develop and manage the supplier support processes for a product certification program such as REACH, RoHS, UKCA, and WEEE. These programs add restrictions or additional requirements based upon the materials present in the product prior to importation with the regulations intended to promote the customer’s health and safety. The role will manage supplier contact lists, develop supplier communications, administer surveys, address supplier questions, follow-up with non-responsive suppliers, develop metrics, and provide broad support for the program. The role will also be a liaison with Solar internal groups (engineering, purchasing agents, compliance experts) and an external supplier that will manager the certification programs.Technical knowledge of manufacturing process and material sciences to be able to understand regulations, product applicability, and aid communications with the technical community internal to Solar or at the supplier will be beneficial.This is a new role within the supply chain that will require someone that can handle ambiguous situations. Strong communication and project management skills are essential with the capability to determine the approach to succeed and then be self-directed to establish and achieve goals.The position has an additional responsibility to support Buyers in the Service Parts Business by requesting supplier quotes and setting up parts in Solar’s ERP system so they can be ordered.Minimum Qualifications:- Associate Degree with a minimum of 3 years working experience or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of working experience- Excellent verbal and written English skills- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and strong skills in other MS Office ApplicationsPreferred Qualifications:- A Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with a minimum of 3 year of working experience- Product certification experience (Reach, RoHS, WEE, UKCA, Conflict Minerals, etc.)- Supply Chain knowledge and experience- Experience working with master data- Technically proficient; ability to understand manufacturing processes and material sciences to aid communication with suppliers and technical community regarding product certification requirements- Experience working in ERP systems, such as SAP, Baan 5C, ERP LN, Windchill- Strong ability to influence through excellent communication and teamwork skills- 6 Sigma CertificationsAdditional language capabilitiesCaterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).Not ready to apply?
