Entity Data Analyst role at LexisNexis About the team Lex Machina fundamentally changes how companies and law firms compete in the business and practice of law. The company provides strategic insights on judges, lawyers, law firms, parties, and other critical information across 22 federal practice areas and a rapidly growing number of state courts. To create our high‑value entity data, Lex Machina has normalized over 146m counsel mentions and over 149m party mentions since 2016. About the Role Lex Machina, the LexisNexis Legal Analytics platform, seeks a Legal Entity Database Specialist (DBA II) to build and maintain accurate entity datasets for federal and state courts. The role includes managing litigation data for parties, law firms, attorneys, and judges, ensuring precision and completeness while following established protocols and helping develop best practices. The ideal candidate excels at detail‑oriented data entry, values high‑quality data, and adapts to fast‑paced environments. Strong teamwork and interest in litigation processes are required, with collaboration across Customer Support, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure smooth customer experience. Responsibilities Reviewing and validating legal documents to ensure that customer‑facing data in structured databases is accurate and complete. Performing quality checks to maintain consistency, reliability, and correctness of data for law firms, attorneys, judges, and other parties involved in litigation. Taking ownership of data integrity, identifying errors or discrepancies, and correcting them promptly to ensure high standards. Collaborating with a distributed team across multiple locations to align data standards, priorities, and workflows. Identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or flaws in datasets and proactively resolving them. Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and best practices. Contributing process improvements and sharing insights to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and usability of our legal data. Supporting cross‑functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and product teams, to deliver a seamless experience for Lex Machina customers. Requirements Experience with data entry or basic database structures is preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Data Science/Analytics, computer science, statistics, Mathematics). Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in data curation, document review, or quality assurance is a plus. Ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team environment and communicate clearly across departments. Interest in learning about litigation procedures, legal terminology, and legal data (no legal background required). Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and technologies as needed. Strong time‑management skills, capable of meeting deadlines under minimal supervision. Fluent English communication (C1 minimum) is required.
