-Job descriptionIf you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impression, join our Global Service Center HSBC and discover how valued you’ll be.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of**Americas Finance Assurance Manager****Role purpose**:- Assurance performs independent review and evaluation of end to end processes, risks and Key control environments- This role is responsible for supporting strengthening the Risk and Control Environment. Individual will be part of second Line of Defense and responsible for regular assurance monitoring and governance- The overall objective is to create an environment where there are minimum or no surprises, enhanced awareness amongst employees, timely escalations, and strict monitoring.- The role’s critical success factors include managing relations within the United States and the larger HSBC Finance community; ability to work across teams, influencing business outcomes.**Main activities**:- Conduct Walkthrough Meetings with Process Owners, along with In-country controls Team & External Auditors.- Understanding various Systems and their Functionality which are used by the Business Areas and are Under Scope of SOX Controls.- Preparation of critical Month end deliverables, SOX testing and highlighting of issues to business partner / management.- Managing the overall control environment and creating awareness across teams and levels with a view to manage operational incidents and ensure compliance with Global standards- Facilitate and evaluate the risk and control assessment for the processes to ensure that risks and underline controls are adequately identified and assessed- Perform management and thematic reviews for the high risk processes and socialize themes emerging from the reviews to prevent recurrence- Work closely with regional control teams and global control office to manage the risks in the end to end processes- Ensure adequacy of framework around SOX controls which would include inventories, training and monitoring- Building and managing relationship with the stakeholdersRequirements- Strong Knowledge on SOX 404 Internal Controls, COSO Frame work and Guidelines.- Ability to interact with the Global Business and Process Owners to review the Process and Internal controls associated with the Business.- Ability to understand the Process, Polices & Procedures to Assess the Effectiveness of SOX controls.- Knowledge of finance functions such as Regulatory reporting, Accounting, Reconciliation and reporting in the financial services sector is a must- Fluent in English- Good business writing skills, Strong communication and presentation skills- You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC_At HSBC we offer our colleagues a greater number of days so that they can fully enjoy their wedding, take care of the new member of the family, or grieve the loss of a family member.
