If you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impression, join GSC HSBC and discover how valued you’ll be.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of**Finance Assurance Lead****Role purpose**:Lead and manage the Finance Assurance Mexico GSC team, which executes Assurance work for HSBC Mexico & LAM and also supports Assurance activities in the US and Canada. This role works directly with the Head of Americas Finance Assurance and in-country Financial Reporting Risk leads to ensure Second Line of Defense responsibilities are appropriately executed across the Americas region.**Main activities**:- Lead reviews on Finance processes and controls across the Americas region in accordance with the relevant Policies and frameworks, including Operational Risk, SOX and applicable regulations.- Prepare and present Assurance reports detailing key findings to the Business Service Owners and Finance senior management, across the region and to the Global Finance management team.- Plan and lead site visits (onsite or virtual) for Americas countries that do not have Finance Assurance teams in country (e.g., Brazil, Chile and Uruguay).- Identify remediation actions for control weaknesses identified during the performance of assurance reviews, collaborating where required with the 1LOD. Where possible, assist with planning remediation actions- Follow up with regional 1LOD to ensure agreed actions are completed within committed timelines- Identify emerging operational risk themes and use these inputs to modify the Assurance control testing approach- Coordinate with other Finance Assurance GSC teams in Poland and India as needed.- Liaise with other internal control functions, in particular Operational Risk, as well as the business- Prepare an annual Control Monitoring Assurance (CMA) Plan and coordinate the execution of the Assurance plan with the Head of Americas Finance Assurance, Financial Reporting Risk country leads and other designated assurance functions- Provide input and commentary to the Risk and Control Management Meeting (RCMM) and Regional Audit Committee Papers, as and when required- Support the country and regional Financial Reporting Risk Stewards during their review and challenge of Americas Risk & Control Assessments (RCAs)Requirements**Knowledge & Experience**- Possess experience in a role involving the monitoring or operation of internal controls in banking together with an understanding of end-to-end financial reporting processes. (Ideally acquired within either a Finance or Internal Audit function)- Team management experience- Knowledge of the regulatory environment in the financial services sector- Understanding of HSBC’s activities, products, processes and systems- Understanding of the key elements of both an Operational Risk and Sox Framework- Strong business writing skills- Able to provide structure and solution to problematic areas, to challenge information presented, providing reasoned explanation to ensure that agreement is reached by both parties- Able to conceptualise the operational impact of business change- Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines- Good people skills, including ability to present to Senior Management across the region and convey key messages- You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC_At HSBC we offer our colleagues a greater number of days so that they can fully enjoy their wedding, take care of the new member of the family, or grieve the loss of a family member.
