**SUMMARY**:***The Import Soucing Specialist is a part of the supply chain team and supports the designated Motion Group. This role negotiates with suppliers to obtain goods, materials, and services at the best prices by using strategic sourcing strategies and extensive knowledge of their commodity industry.**JOB DUTIES**- Develops relationships with strategic and transactional suppliers.- Provides solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.- Manages all aspects of analysis including significant demand forecasting, cost savings, slow moving inventory and support of our sales and operations process.- Manages all procurement for a family of parts including PO management, product knowledge, substitutions, second sourcing, expedites, and all related receival and invoicing issues- Conducts research on new suppliers and new products while working with Sales and Marketing to develop a strategy.- Obtains quotes from different suppliers.- Converts supplier requisitions and processes purchase orders, expedites purchase orders, manages past due purchase orders, using the system tools and reports.- Resolves any supplier discrepancies with accounting, inventory control, or shipping and coordinates logistics and freight issues with suppliers and receiving department.- Manages master data and inventory preferences for all parts/commodities in a family of parts.- Finds and on-boarding new suppliers that increase our capabilities and reduce costs.- Performs other job duties as assigned.- Responsible for providing services related to getting products from suppliers to customers in multiple areas of the supply chain to internal and/or external clients.**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least five (5) years of experience in a related field.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**- Excellent interpersonal skills- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Strong understanding in freight and commodity indicies- Positive attitude, high energy level- Ability to gain customer trust- Previous experience in sourcing and negotiation**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:Ability to travel 50% of the time**LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS**:Valid Driver's License and Passport**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY**:No Supervisory Responsibility**BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY**:No**COMPANY INFORMATION**:Motion offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcare coverage, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, vacation, sick, and holiday pay.GPC conducts its business without regard to sex, race, creed, color, religion, marital status, national origin, citizenship status, age, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, disability, military status, status as a veteran, or any other protected characteristic.
