The Impact and Responsibilities Impact: This role provides direct analytical coverage of rated insurance companies and structured finance transactions, contributing to timely, well‑reasoned rating opinions that inform investors and market participants. Your analysis will support surveillance, rating actions, and the integrity of S&P Global’s credit research across markets. Responsibilities: Perform rigorous credit analysis including research, financial statement analysis, and building financial models and forecasts. Prepare clear analytical reports and rating recommendations for a portfolio of rated insurance companies and structured finance exposures. Own ongoing surveillance for assigned credits, identifying drivers of credit risk and recommending appropriate rating actions. Apply structured finance expertise to analyze complex transactions, advise colleagues, and support improvements in operational systems and processes. Present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management of rated entities, with clear and persuasive communication. Collaborate across teams to incorporate diverse perspectives, share knowledge, and drive consistent analytical outcomes. Demonstrate accountability by managing resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and pursuing continuous improvement and innovation. What We’re Looking For Basic Required Qualifications: An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5+ years of extensive experience in structured finance, or within a large commercial bank, investment bank, investing institution, or audit company, specifically in credit analysis of structured finance or equivalent experience. Strong analytical skills with deep understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting principles relevant to insurance companies. High proficiency in quantitative analysis, with strong attention to accuracy and detail under tight deadlines. Proven ability to prepare forecasts based on sound assumptions and robust analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build consensus and share knowledge. Proven ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a collaborative environment. Soft skills: critical thinking; stakeholder management; intellectual curiosity; teamwork and mentorship. All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in‑person interview, ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office; this must be completed before we can proceed to an offer. Preferred Qualifications: Experience analyzing insurance company financials and regulatory frameworks. Prior responsibility for structured finance transactions or securitizations. Advanced modeling skills and familiarity with industry data sources and analytics platforms.
