Hughes Company, Inc. team**Position Description****Key Competencies Required to be Successful as an Operations Supervisor**- Manage the day-to-day warehouse duties and responsibilities to meet and exceed targets; ensure all warehouse activities are performed safely and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and hold a high level of accountability as a leader in your division, while constantly pushing to meet targets and creating operational efficiencies.- Collaborate with the management team to provide regular updates and promptly communicate any issues; provide solutions to resolve discrepancies and fulfill customer orders.- Promote operational excellence and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction; perform quality assurance checks to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.- Onboard and ensure new employees receive the appropriate training to effectively perform job duties; set performance goals, evaluate employee performance, and provide feedback.- Manage shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.- Able to meet inventory levels through proper controls and warehouse coordination.- Foster a culture of transparency, disciplined problem-solving, high-performance work teams, and continuous improvement.- Assist and support staff training in accordance with company requirements, as well as assist the manager where applicable.- Partner with customer service, purchasing and logistics suppliers to ensure availability of products.- Perform other job duties as assigned.**Education/Certification/Licenses**- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a distribution warehousing environment; must have knowledge and experience with industrial products or similar industry.**Skills That Will Make You Successful**- Proven track record of effective inventory control, warehouse effectiveness and cost reduction expenses and on time delivery.- Detail-oriented, decisive, and able to multi-task well in a fast-paced environment with coaching support.- Strong interpersonal communication skills including superior listening skills.- Experience building and driving teamwork.- Outgoing self-starter who can work independently.- Ability to think quickly and solve problems.**Experience**: Required- 5 year(s): Warehouse Capability Experience- 2 year(s): Warehouse Supervisor experience**Education**: Required- Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field- Technical/other training or better in English or related field
