At PepsiCo we create a Space to be y( )u.Currently we are looking for our next:**R&D Manager****Which is the main objective of this role?**- Ensure the continuity of the Annual and Strategic Operating Plans agenda of the Savory portfolio transformation strategy.- Manage the execution of Savory innovation projects from development to plant start up over the Pellet and any other assigned platforms.- Ensure the correct execution of R&D projects over the Savory platform assigned: Productivity, Brand Stewardship, Process Commissioning, etc.- Managing budget for the area to ensure the correct use and distribution of the resources.**What will you be doing?**- Lead the portfolio transformation agenda for PMF and Caricam, ensuring to comply with the goals and timing commitments yearly.- Team leader of the R&D innovation agenda for Pellet, Extrusion, or other Savory platforms for PMF and Caricam, guiding the resources and activities over the Stage-Gate process.- Facilitate and ensure the execution of the R&D projects for the assigned platforms, such as: productivity, business continuity, brand stewardship, process commissioning, etc.- Responsible of portfolio maintenance on his/her assigned category, providing insights and feedback to maintain or improve product design and quality.- Provide technical and strategic coaching according to her/his experience and expertise to collaborators and other team members in the platform, manufacturing, quality, and co-man staff.- Validate and approve process & product specifications, product playbooks, procedures, mass balances, formulas, and costs for the assigned platforms.- Hand in hand with Engineering team, define any new operational technology or equipment for her/his category.- Guide her/his team to deliver any project on time and under the quality, food safety and regulatory PepsiCo and local standards.- Administrate the budget of the R&D Savory team, organizing and forecasting the resources and communicating status monthly.Qualifications:**Who are we looking for?**- Bachelor’s in food engineering/ Food Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering/ Food Technology/ Biochemical Engineering or similar.- Desirable Master’s degree on Foods/Engineering or MBA.- Minimum 6 years of experience in Foods Research and Development.- Food process experience in extrusion and pellet processes or similar.- Experience leading and managing teams and projects over challenging business and environments.- Stage-Gate Innovation process experience.- Project management knowledge.- Experience working in cells and matrix reporting.- Experience working and negotiating with suppliers and Co-manufacturers.- Critical knowledge on raw materials functionality.- Functional knowledge on savory snacks technologies (Extrusion, Pellet, TC, PC, Popcorn).- Manufacturing processes knowledge and Food unit operations such as drying, frying, seasoning, and packaging.- Product development and innovation.- Desirable experience working through different regions and countries, specially in Central America and Caribbean.**Certifications**- EHS, Food Safety and Regulatory Knowledge- Microsoft Office 365- SAP PLM desirable- PMO & Budget Management knowledge desirable- Extrusion technologies expertise desirable- Lean Manufacturing and Quality Systems desirable**Languages**- Advanced English language communication skills, both oral and written.
