**LOCATION**:Apodaca / Nuevo León (MX-NLE), Mexico | **BRAND**: Bendix | **REQUISITION ID**:929 |** JOB GRADE**:15**JOB DESCRIPTION**:**Position Summary**:**Essential Functions**:- Interface between Knorr-Bremse technical teams and North American OEM customers.- Serve as txechnical lead for Bendix requirements of design and commercialization processes.- Become familiar with product test plans and oversee functional testing and warranty analysis.- Participate in technical discussions with assigned North American OEM customers.- Create part numbers and coordinate component drawings as required for local production.- Participate in the development of DFMEAs (including linkage activity of S/C’s and C/C’s - critical characteristics) and other safety-related analyses.- Participate in the functional safety requirements definition in accordance with ISO 26262.- Interface with advanced plant operations prior to product launch.- Interface with plant quality to support the IPA and PPAP processes.- Perform analysis of End-Of-Line rejects and warranty returns, synthesis and implementation of solutions.- Interface with the software organization to ensure that all software requirements are properly implemented.- Perform basic project management tasks - maintain project status and milestones; report out to management; anticipate workload, potential delays, potential problems.- This position includes travel to assigned OEM customer facilities.- This position may require travel to Knorr-Bremse facilities in North America and other parts of the world.**Knowledge**:- Knowledge of ISO/QS9000 Total Quality processes preferred.- Knowledge of Bendix / Knorr production processes and design practices is a plus.- Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle electronics design (e.g. SAE J1455) and APQP.- Knowledgeable in mechanical, environmental, electrical, and vehicle test processes and procedures.- Knowledge of automotive communications protocol (e.g. SAE J1939) operation and testing preferred.- Working knowledge of functional safety concepts.**Experience**:- 3 - 5 years of automotive industry or commercial vehicle industry preferred.- Product development and launch experience preferred, including development of specifications, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs, basic exposure to and interface with PPAP process; interfacing with manufacturing engineers.- Engineering change processes understanding is required; PLM tools and design documentation including creation and/or checking of drawings. CAD experience is a plus.- Validation testing including mechanical, electrical, climatic environments with system and vehicle-level experience.- Current product support, including statistical analysis of production data, design of experiments, component failure analysis, and maintenance of specifications, drawings, and BOMs.**Skills**:- Familiar with common engineering tools (SAP, Teamcenter). CAD is a plus.- Effective communicating with customers.- Self-starter / self-motivating.- Capable of multi-tasking and adapting to changing priorities.- Strong problem-solving skills.- Solid analytical skills.- Good organizational skills, capable of maintaining schedules and communicating progress to management.- Outstanding professional presence.**Education**:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar field is required.
