Metrology Engineer Purpose of the Position The Metrology Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and traceability of all measurement processes within the organization. This role oversees the function and maintenance of measurement equipment, continuously improves metrology methods, and ensures full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. The position also conducts dimensional verification of initial samples, analyzes measurement and physicochemical test reports, and identifies opportunities to integrate new technologies or equipment to strengthen measurement capabilities. Main Roles & Responsibilities Management and administration of measuring equipment Plan and execute measurement programs, including operation of CMM, VMS, and mechanical testing equipment Verify and manage equipment operation and preventive maintenance Document procedures, SOPs, and work methods to ensure standardization and compliance Implement improvements to enhance measurement accuracy and process reliability Propose and evaluate new technologies or measurement equipment Monitor part measurements according to drawings and GD&T requirements Participate in internal and external audits related to metrology and quality systems Review technical reports such as daily logs, SPC, FAI, CPK, GRR, and others Verify maintenance and cleaning activities for laboratory equipment to ensure proper preservation and control Verify R&R studies and CPK results to ensure process capability Manage calibration activities for on‑site samples Promote and maintain 5S culture within the quality control laboratory Maintain a high level of quality in all assigned tasks Participate in internal design reviews and deliver clear presentations to engineers, technicians, and management Identify and prioritize projects based on available data and organizational needs.
