What is the main challenge of the position?The Program Buyer located in Ramos Arizpe Plant is responsible for providing business unit support, including requests for quotation, new product launch development, leading early supplier involvement, value analysis/value engineering, and leading supplier launch coordination with local manufacturing sites in alignment with global purchasing commodity teams.Responsible for meetings annual financial targets, ensuring successful launches and driving results through the development and execution of commodity strategies.The Main Functions Of The Position Are- Coordinate supplier new product introductions in support of customer product launches.- Provide supply material pricing cost summaries to respective product launch teams.- Utilize supplier selection in alignment with global purchasing commodity strategies and new product performance requirements.- Coordinate early supplier involvement with product and manufacturing teams. Drive value analysis/value engineering activity during launch phase.- Support respective project prototype purchasing requirements.- Negotiate technical and/or supply agreements with suppliers involved in "early supplier involvement" to ensure that Tenneco design and developed technology is protected.- Support improvement of supplier launch procedures to minimize inventory obsolescence and support lean manufacturing needs in alignment with operational expectations.- Liaison to business units, as required.**Required Skills**:- Strong team-building skills- Ability to negotiate with suppliers- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.- Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.- Excellent ability to build strong external and internal relationships; deliver solutions that gain the confidence of stakeholders and team members- Self-managementMust HaveRequired Experience- +3 year of experience in Purchasing or any role with comparable requirements to those described above.- Bachelor’s Degree in a related Business or Technical discipline.
