Category Leader, Consumables

As the Category Leader, you will have direct influence on business results with all of Aptiv’s business sectors. You will be responsible for **Consumables**portfolio (e.g. MRO, BPT, PPE, Spares)In this role, you will influence the supply and sourcing strategy and have regional accountability for strategy implementation leading specific supplier relationships and provide support to the global Consumables Team on strategic and operational topics. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing supply chain efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.**Your Role****Implement category (commodity) strategies that create competitive advantage and capture value for the product lines**- Identify/acquire product line/business units business requirements- Achieve targeted category material cost performance- Influence robust global category strategy development- Lead regional strategy implementation across all business units ensuring supply base optimization and competitiveness- Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams (e.g. PC&L, Engineering, Quality, Legal) to deliver sourcing solutions that drive performance, innovation, and sustainability.- Monitor market trends and supplier landscapes to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.- Lead strategic sourcing projects, including supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contract management- Very strong interaction with Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Management to ensure flawless project execution (Time, Costs, Quality)- Generate cost savings (yearly performance)**Lead supplier relationship management**- Develop suppliers’ capabilities, renew suppliers and steer towards engaging a new ecosystem- Build and maintain major cross product line supplier relationships with ongoing performance and capability evaluation- Contract management, vendor selection, negotiation- Lead category specific strategic supplier events, such as Supplier Workshops, Quarterly Business Reviews- Lead negotiations of corporate-wide supplier contracts including, but not limited to Terms & Conditions, payment terms, Strategic Agreements- Create, lead and monitor supplier development/improvement plans- Qualify/select/approve suppliers for CASL (category approved supplier list)**Lead and support team members and activities**- Ensure sourcing excellence and internal controls- Promote cost management activities- Support operational topics**Your Background**- Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in engineering or business, Packaging Engineering, accounting with +3 years of sourcing experience in similar role (preferred in the manufacturing or automotive sector).- Understanding of best industry practices and trends and thorough understanding of Aptiv’s product line objectives to create and influence strategy development- Empowered decision maker/relationship-builder with high integrity- Strong problem solving skills in high pressure scenarios- Ability to travel both locally and globally- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.- Ability to perform effectively in dynamic, fast-changing environments requiring adaptability and resilience.- Capability to operate independently while exercising a high level of responsibility and sound decision-making.- Used to work in matrix organization with various functional stakeholders and on various regions- Excellent communication and project management abilities.
