Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Strategy to lead the strategic planning process for our clients at Jellyfish Mexico. Reporting to the Head of P&B, you will be the primary architect behind the strategic vision, working with clients, brand teams, and cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies that maximize brand impact, market reach, and consumer engagement.

You will establish strategic frameworks grounded in deep consumer insights, market analysis, and brand goals. You will then provide the necessary strategic guidance to ensure tactical media plans are aligned with overarching business goals. While you will not be directly involved in tactical media planning, your role will help determine the optimal media mix and platform allocation to achieve success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive digital media strategies for clients, considering brand positioning, market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.
  • Leverage data, consumer research, and market analysis to generate actionable insights that inform strategy. Translate these insights into clear, compelling strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Media Framework Development: Establish strategic media frameworks, including platform recommendations and budget allocation across digital channels (social, search, display, programmatic, etc.) to optimize performance and meet client objectives.
  • Work closely with the Planning team to ensure the strategic vision translates effectively into tactical execution. Provide them with clear direction on platform splits, audience targeting, and budget distribution, ensuring strategies align with business goals.
  • Act as the primary strategic consultant for clients, presenting and refining strategic plans based on feedback. Build long-term relationships by continuously offering insights and recommendations to drive success.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Creative, Data, Analytics, Technology) to ensure alignment and drive consistent execution of strategies across all touchpoints.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in digital marketing, media consumption, and emerging technologies to continually refine and evolve strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital media strategy, brand strategy, or related fields within an agency or brand-side setting.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing multi-channel digital media strategies with a deep understanding of digital platforms, media buying, and performance metrics.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and insight generation, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and deliver compelling strategic presentations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with various departments including Creative, Media Planning, and Analytics.
