We are hiring a **Wood Applications Interior Designer.** You will be helping us to grow sales by offering specification support and creating a delightful experience for our partners—Steelcase field sales and our dealers.**What You Will Be Doing**The Wood Applications Interior Designer helps the Steelcase sales teams and dealers with product solutions. They focus on using Wood products like Elective Elements, Currency, Mackinac, Convene, and Bassline to create designs with full specifications and technical deliverables.Your main responsibilities consist in:- Having an in-depth understanding of Wood products - Elective Elements, Mackinac, Currency, Verlay, Convene, Bassline, and more.- Designing and specifying Wood product designs; providing final specification documents to requestors. - (Renderings, Technical drawings, and Bill of Materials).- Design/space plan and specify solutions with systems and freestanding furniture.- Specify product solutions and then express them verbally through the drawing/deliverable.- Revising technical and specific details for orders and mockups.- Communicating with field sales and dealers to schedule scoping calls, determine requested deliverable and timeline, and provide overall project updates.- Communicating and collaborating with the Steelcase internal teams regarding special requirements.- Using the Salesforce CRM to track and manage assigned project details, register time worked on projects, update project status.- Supporting internal teams such as Product Marketing and showroom teams with design support.- Populate completed projects on the shared Wood Design Studio Applications Library.- Participate in weekly team calls and share any learnings, tips and tricks, and challenges.- Develop and curate team resources - keeping the Wood Applications Library up to date.**Who You Are**:**Required Skills and Competencies**- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or Industrial Design.- Advanced English is required.- 1+ years’ experience in executing design proposals and concepts is required.- Experience and advanced knowledge of construction, building systems, codes, architectural detail, furnishings as well as acoustics, lighting, and other disciplines is required.- Proficient in Architectural/Technical drawing and rendering software is required.- Proficient in AutoCAD and Sketchup is required.- Knowledge of CET/Adobe Photoshop is a plus.**Preferred Skills and Competencies**- Project and time management skills.- Possesses a natural sense of design, design thinking, and the creative process.- Shows proficiency in space planning, rendering and graphic presentation skills.- Strong collaboration and team-building skills.- Critical thinking, creativity, and analytic skills.- Knows how to work with remote teams independently, while contributing to satisfy customer needs for achieving corporate duties.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.- Results driven.**Why People Choose to Work With Us**:At Steelcase, we put people at the center of everything we do.
