Key responsibilities include preparing accurate journal entries, robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and collaborating with local stakeholders for timely issue resolution. The position requires proactive communication with finance colleagues and regional accounting teams to address queries effectively while adhering to Alcon standards and policies. It also involves meeting SLA/KPI targets and addressing internal and external inquiries.- Compliance_- People Management_- Actively support Financial Reporting & Accounting (FRA) Ops working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and Behaviors- Act service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and contribute to derive to improvements/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:- Education: Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance required. Masters or Advanced degree in accounting preferred- Languages: English proficiency - intermediate level (Conversation, reading and writing- Experience: Accounting Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounting (Mid-Sr level) with a track record of accurate accounting and financial reporting.- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IFRS, balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and statutory/corporate accounting.- Inventory Accounting: Understanding of inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, weighted average), provisions for slow movers, and impact on COGS and financial statements.- Audit & Compliance: Experience supporting internal and external audits, with a solid grasp of internal and financial controls.- Technology Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel skills, along with familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.- Core Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and planning abilities.
