**Médicos Sin Fronteras en México A.C.****Seeks*****Internal Medicine Physician**:**for International Humanitarian Missions**:**To join our team in International Projects(Minimum availability of 6 months)** Please upload your CV and motivation letter in English**:**THIS JOB PROFILE IS IN ENGLISH SINCE THIS IS THE REQUIRED LANGUAGE FOR THE JOB****OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION**Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients/beneficiaries health conditions.**RESPONSIBILITIES**- Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, checking they have understood.- Follow up the evolution of the hospitalized/IDP patients, through daily visits, consultations and examinations, prescribing the necessary treatment following MSF protocols, deciding whether they can be discharged or transferred to other departments - in collaboration with other doctors- and informing their family about the patient's evolution.- Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and take care the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards.- Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the line manager or project coordinator about any problem or complication of the patients illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the department, equipment or material.- Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the quality of care.- Knows and ensures all MSF medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control. Ensures professional confidentiality is respected.- Manage the team under his/her direct responsibility according to MSF HR policies and procedures, supervising their performance, organizing and scheduling shifts and rotations, directly participating in emergencies and on calls if necessary.- Clinically evaluate newly admitted patients and lead processes for diagnosis and management- Manage advanced HIV and opportunistic infections with a particular focus on disseminated tuberculosis and other common OIs,, support decisions on ART switches based on Indian/WHO Guidelines.- Manage of severe acute malnutrition, comorbidities and common adverse events, including drug induced liver injury, seizures, and others.- Monitor prescription and use of antibiotics, and manage use of reserve or rare antibiotics- Advise and contribute to standard operating procedures related to infectious disease management and clinical care in general- Build capacity of ward team, through bedside training to MSF Medical Doctors and Nurses, in the management of infectious diseases in advanced HIV- Provide support to OPD resident doctors in identifying life threating conditions and planning clinical management of complex presentations- Clinically evaluate and stabilise in-coming patients prior or during admission- Clinically evaluate newly admitted patients and provide inputs on processes for diagnosis and management- In in-coming and admitted patients, recognize and decide admission or further referral of patients depending on clinical condition and prognosis- Manage of severe acute malnutrition, comorbidities and common adverse events, including drug induced liver injury, seizures, and others.- Refer patients to appropriate facilities (imagery, TBDC, tertiary Hospital in Patna) for further investigations and treatment or special care based on indications set by DWBI Protocols; and follow up the evolution of referred cases by networking/collaborating with partner doctors.Note: Due to local legal restrictions, international doctors cannot do direct clinical work. They can however examine patients with consent and advise local resident doctors on treatment and management plan.
