This position reports to our Government Accounting Manager supporting our accounting functions with a focus on billing our governmental customers.This position is an on-site position with the opportunity for a hybrid remote work schedule.**Responsibilities**:- Prepare weekly invoices to government customers for multiple contracts/vessels.- Monthly tracking and follow-up of unbilled receivables.- Process monthly journal entries.- Assist with account reconciliations.- Review detailed supporting documentation to ensure it meets requirements of government customers for billing purposes.- Research and review accounting records for proper documentation, if missing.- Create adjusting journal entries to correct errors in coding, when needed for proper categorization for billing purposes.- Creation of overtime billing schedules in Microsoft Excel, with reconciliation to payroll.- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures.- Other accounting functions as needed.**Qualifications**:- Associates Degree in Accounting, or equivalent.- Bachelor's degree highly preferred.- Fluent in the English/Spanish language in both written and oral form required.- Strong general math skills.- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics software a plus.- Software/Systems used: Microsoft Office 365/Outlook/SharePoint/OneDriveand Docuware, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics 2018 (formerly Solomon).- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.- Ability to meet deadlines weekly.- Ability to organize and handle large volumes of documentation.- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.- Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills.- Teamwork.- Confidentiality.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
