**BILLING SPECIALIST**

Now hiring in Mexico City, Mexico for a leading maritime contractor to the U.S. Government providing ship management services. This position reports to our Government Accounting Manager supporting our accounting functions with a focus on billing our governmental customers. This position is an on-site position with the opportunity for a hybrid remote work schedule.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepare weekly invoices to government customers for multiple contracts/vessels.
- Monthly tracking and follow-up of unbilled receivables.
- Process monthly journal entries.
- Assist with account reconciliations.
- Review detailed supporting documentation to ensure it meets the requirements of government customers for billing purposes.
- Research and review accounting records for proper documentation, if missing.
- Create adjusting journal entries to correct errors in coding, when needed for proper categorization for billing purposes.
- Creation of overtime billing schedules in Microsoft Excel, with reconciliation to payroll.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures.
- Other accounting functions as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Associates Degree in Accounting, or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
- Strong general math skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics software is a plus.
- Software/Systems used: Microsoft Office 365/Outlook/SharePoint/OneDrive and Docuware, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics 2018 (formerly Solomon)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines weekly.
- Ability to organize and handle large volumes of documentation.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills.
