Senior Revenue Accountant

JumpCloud® is IT Simplified.**About the Role****What You'll be Doing**:- Review B2B SaaS sales contracts to ensure 100% compliance with ASC 606 (or relevant revenue recognition standards) for all revenue transactions.- Review and execute Sales Orders, billing transactions and revenue schedules- Proactively identify and implement additional controls or reconciliations needed within the Q2C process.- Develop and execute reconciliations for areas identified as needing additional controls or tie-outs.- Maintain a near-zero error rate in revenue-related transactions, approvals, and reconciliations.- Complete all revenue-related close tasks within established deadlines, consistently.- Produce accurate and timely revenue reports for management review.- Identify and assist in implementing efficiencies to minimize month-end close time.- Prepare monthly revenue and reclassification journal entries.- Conduct monthly revenue flux analysis and miscellaneous revenue adjustments as needed.- Maintain all transaction support records and documentation in an organized and audit-ready state.- Coordinate efforts to gather documentation and reporting for auditors.- Participate and contribute to audit walkthroughs and ad-hoc discussions.- Assist in ensuring SOX compliance regarding revenue-related controls.- Demonstrate or develop proficiency in SFDC, with the ability to extract necessary data in the form of basic to moderately complex reports.- Demonstrate or develop proficiency in NetSuite, including the ability to extract necessary data for reports and saved searches with limited support.- Demonstrate or develop an understanding of the Advanced Revenue Module (ARM) in NetSuite to trace revenue transactions from transaction documents to the general ledger.- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting system-related revenue accounting issues.- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Legal, and other departments.- Recognize and effectively communicate the cross-functional impacts of accounting projects, changes, or discoveries.- Effectively communicate revenue accounting requirements to non-financial stakeholders.- Work with sales teams to ensure contracts are structured to allow for scalable processing and proper revenue recognition.- Identify and assist in implementing process improvements, particularly automation and AI enabled processes, to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy in revenue accounting.- Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation on revenue accounting policies and procedures.- Provide insightful analysis of revenue trends and variances.- Develop and maintain key reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate revenue accounting and ARR reporting on a monthly basis.- Maintain a deep understanding of current and evolving revenue recognition standards.- Participate in relevant professional development activities.- Take an active role in researching and documenting changes to company revenue recognition accounting policies.- Maintain a positive, professional, and constructive tone in all communications**Preferred Qualifications**:- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.- CPA (or similar) preferred.- Revenue Recognition 3-5 years exposure in a SaaS company (preferably B2B) or 2-4 years Big 4 public accounting experience with SaaS engagements.- Solid understanding of US GAAP particularly ASC 606.- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.).- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce CPQ a plus.- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.- Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve, both from an accounting and system perspective.- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.- Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to jump in and help out as needed.- Flexibility to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-growing company.LI-MH1**Where you’ll be working/Location**:JumpCloud® is committed to being Remote First, meaning that you are able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.This role is remote in the country of Mexico.
