Requisition ID: 23878Job Location(s):Apodaca, MXDanfoss is looking for a **Category Manager**, who will be responsible for managing our suppliers of within different commodities of direct materials (steel, extruded aluminium, packaging etc.).In this role you will become part of a global organization within the Danfoss Refrigeration and A/C Controls Division. You will report to the Regional Head of Procurement and be **based out of Apodaca, Mexico.**As Category Manager you will be responsible for end-to-end management of allocated category with the support of Regional Head. Ensuring one point of contact (one face) towards suppliers and the business. You will be responsible for a range of procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short and long-term basis. In doing so, you will be working across several Local & Global functions and serve as the link between Supply Chain and external suppliers.In the event of supplier quality and delivery problems, the Category Manager handles the situation professionally and effectively. The Category Manager also supports efforts to secure the best Total Cost of Ownership**Responsibilities**:Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following.- Drive the local sourcing strategy for the assigned categories- Drive and/or participate in cross-functional project teams to execute cost-down activities/projects locally and regionally- Align technical and commercial requirements and secure total cost of ownership solutions and long-term partnership with key suppliers- Actively research trends and new technologies within sub-category incl. how other industries impact the sub-category (E.g., supply, pricing, investments etc.)- Support operations in escalation to suppliers to secure material availability, quality cases and Customer Specific requirements for new business and product development- Responsible to secure that all approval documentation is in place within procurement driven projects through all milestones- Support on R&D projects between M1-M5 and start/follow up on prototypes and customer design changes**Background & Skills**:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business- Minimum 4 years of procurement related experience from a manufacturing industry environment- Experience in negotiation and excellent communication skills- Strong project management skills and experience in leading and participating in cross-functional project- Expert analytic and systematic skills.**Danfoss - Engineering Tomorrow**:At Danfoss, we are engineering solutions that allow the world to use resources in smarter ways - driving the sustainable transformation of tomorrow.
