Job Summary Define, develop and implement a New Product Introduction strategy, which contributes to all different electronics‑SMT strategic directions. Serve as the go‑to authority on new product launches in the electronics engineering side, stay up to date with industry trends and best practices for printed circuit board designs, and provide expert guidance to leadership, stakeholders such as designers, program managers, and POM directors by identifying and creating gap analyses. Lead the business cases through deep return‑on‑investment (ROIC) analysis to create strategic decisions for new technologies versus material cost, human labor, etc. Drive organizational changes aligned with the organization’s metrics and goals, using our shared values and competencies, following the Art of the Possible methodology to create a solid and self‑directed team that operates and improves. Monitor the success and impact of the manufacturing program across the existing product portfolio and new product introduction, translating priorities into operational plans by aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that activities yield measurable and sustainable results. Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Develop an engineering team to support strategic business growth through the Art of the Possible methodology and world‑class engineering for a New Product Introduction. Support that team by defining strategic goals, activities, priorities and skills needed for a perfect launch. Define a system in alignment with Acuity PDS methodology to ensure the service levels and quality expected in all PDS phases. Coordinate, create and ensure the correct quality systems, metrics and tools in all launches. Create a roadmap for NPI engineering to ensure the new technologies needed to achieve the highest quality levels with the fastest time to market. Create and define the future of electronics assembly capabilities by identifying new formats, footprints or technologies needed for different architecture solutions. Lead the electronics DFX strategies to ensure the Art of the Possible design guidelines are implemented. Update electronics DFX guidelines covering design for manufacturing, testing, quality and automation. Promote DFX guidelines across designer networks. Ensure through different NPI engineers the correct capex and opex analysis to get manufacturing tooling on time (fixtures, stencils, nozzles, etc.) with less rework and highest yields. Translate priorities into operational plans to align communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and measurement systems. Skills and Minimum Experience Required Extensive knowledge of SMT, PTH, testing manufacturing processes and technologies. Deep understanding of all SMT related best practices and equipment. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work with plant directors, VPs and SVPs. Deep understanding of DFX methodology in electronics assembly. Passion for curiosity and new technologies.
