The Groups and Events Director is responsible for proactive and reactive sales efforts business for One&Only Mandarina, responding to all inquiries within the set time frame all with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving Annual sales group goals. This position also supports the sales plan and strategy, client development, managing key relationships, identifying new target markets and sales product with the goal of meeting and exceeding revenue goals. Duties and Responsabilities Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Catering Sales Meeting, Revenue Meeting, Sales Meeting and Site Inspection and Site Planning Visits. Ensure the proper use of function space to maximize revenue potential for resort. Keep Director of Sales and Marketing promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matter so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate. Comply with One&Only standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities Ability to negotiate and work under pressure Solicit and secure new business in assigned market segments to drive group revenue to the hotel. Develop the existing customer base (reactive) as well as acquire new business accounts (proactive) to expand our account base against weekly goals. Assists with the development, implementation, and management of group promotions in conjunction with overall sales and marketing plan. Develop expertise in assigned markets. (i.e. expertise in the groups segment and establish as a leader for Mandarina as well as the community for your designated territory) Work with Regional Sales Team to develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers. Support and Participate in sales presentations, property tours, customer meetings, and business review meetings with team. Support and Participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events within the area hotels, the industry and customer organizations. Understand the competitive landscape and how to maintain leadership position given market and economic changes. Adjust sales plan and strategies accordingly whilst notifying updated in the weekly report. Develop and maintain best practices, policies, and service initiatives to achieve optimal sales service and client retention. Work in conjunction with Finance Department to secure Master Accounts are pristine before presenting to client Work together with Food and Beverage, Spa, Front Desk, Reservations and other departments to secure groups and events excel their expectations and secure loyal customers to the brand. Administrate and update GRC About you Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. College Education preferred. Previous experience in group sales management is mandatory. Strong selling and interpersonal skills Supervision and overall responsibility of the groups function including maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from group sales managers and coordinators. Adapt in groups systems, catering management tools. The ability to achieve yearly personal sales booking goals. Has the ability to interpret all group ceilings, Delphi or Opera sales and catering alongside hotel’s policies, procedures, and standards.
