This group is dedicated to building a more personal Reverb that helps connect a user to their interests and passions, so they can play music the way they’ve always wanted.As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for helping us build a new personalized features including more curation tools for users and expanding our use of recommendation and user-affinity modeling. You will also help us build a new cross-functional way of working and organizing, bringing together full stack and app development for the first time. We want to build features holistically across Reverb so no matter where a user is, they are getting the same great personalized experience.**What’s this team like at Reverb?**- Reverb is the matching of Buyers with Sellers - our team owns this incredibly impactful area.- We partner with our sellers about how to help them directly.- This year, we will be completely revamping part of our seller experience - a great opportunity to throw away old code and bring modern practices in one of the most used parts of Reverb.- We are a remote friendly team - all of our collaboration is inclusive of folks in an office and on the screen.**What does the day-to-day look like?**- Day-to-day management and mentorship of engineers.- Guiding planning and other rituals.- Working closely with our engineers to form well defined tasks, refine requirements with stakeholders and ensure we are delivering outstanding value to our users.- Partnering with our analytics team to plan and implement successful user-facing experiments.- Identifying and helping to prioritize tech debt and refactoring opportunities.- Collaborating with other engineering teams on larger projects.- Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.**Qualifications**:**Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are**:- A love of building and maintaining happy, well-functioning teams that deliver consistently.- Communicate (frequently) in an inclusive, thoughtful and kind manner.- Understanding the “why” behind what we are doing and being a strong collaborator with stakeholders.- Previous substantial experience as a software developer with experience in products running at scale.- Confidence jumping into a pairing session with a developer and adding efficient value.- Understanding code and architectural tradeoffs and advising the team on these choices.Additional Information**What's Next**If you're interested in joining the team at Etsy, please share your resume with us and feel free to include a cover letter if you'd like.
