Role Definition
Provides support and guidance on all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.
Responsibilities

  • Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes.
  • Monitoring equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.
  • Continuous improvement related to internal processes regarding operation, equipment, machining processes, and cost production.
  • Analyzing engineering change notices, determining any part or process change, initiating and implementing all changes.
  • Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.

• Performs routine maintenance: cleaning, replacing defective or worn parts.
• Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems.

Manufacturing Processes:
• Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness.
• Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks.

Manufacturing Safety:
• Performs safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:
• Consults on development and implementation of cross-functional standards.

Problem Management Process - MFG:
• Uses a specific discipline or approach to problem solving and resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or degree in an appropriate field of manufacturing or engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes.
  • Strong knowledge in APQP Caterpillar processes.
  • Ability to operate and resolve issues related to machining problems.
  • Strong knowledge in different CNC programming codes, such as EIA/ISO, Mazatrol, Sinumerik, Fanuc, Inspection Plus.
  • Knowledge in NX software (modeling and manufacturing).
  • Ability to work simultaneously in multiple projects and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge in Caterpillar 1E and GD&T specifications.
  • Quality focused, and urgency committed per business requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to team members and other process associates.
  • Robot programming is considered a plus.
  • English - Advanced.
