For more information, please visit: Team Overview The SPEI Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company’s operations related to the Sistema de Pagos Electrónicos Interbancarios (SPEI) comply with applicable Banxico regulations, internal policies, and regulatory expectations. As part of the Compliance team, this role serves as the internal subject matter expert on SPEI, keeping the organization up to date on regulatory updates, operational requirements, and best practices related to SPEI participation within a fintech environment. Role Responsibilities Acting as the internal compliance lead and subject matter expert for SPEI, ensuring ongoing alignment with Banxico regulations and official communications.
Monitoring, analyzing, and communicating regulatory updates, circulars, and guidelines related to SPEI and payment systems. Ensuring SPEI‑related processes, controls, and procedures comply with Banxico requirements and internal compliance standards. Supporting the development, review, and maintenance of SPEI‑specific policies, procedures, and controls. Performing compliance reviews and monitoring activities over SPEI transactions and operational flows.
Identifying, assessing, and escalating SPEI‑related compliance, operational, and regulatory risks. Supporting internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and information requests related to SPEI. Collaborating with Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, and Product teams to ensure regulatory requirements are properly implemented. Providing guidance and training to internal teams on SPEI compliance obligations and best practices.
Role Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience working with SPEI, including knowledge of its operational and regulatory framework. >Strong understanding of Banxico regulations related to payment systems and SPEI.
Experience
working in compliance, regulatory, risk, or payments‑related roles within fintechs, banks, or regulated financial institutions in Mexico. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical controls and procedures. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross‑functionally. Desirable / Plus: Previous experience as a SPEI participant or service provider (direct or indirect).
Familiarity with CNBV regulatory frameworks and their interaction with payment systems.
Experience
supporting Banxico inspections, audits, or regulatory communications. Knowledge of AML/CTF (PLD/FT) considerations related to payment systems.
Experience
