TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.**What your background should look like**:- Responsibilities:- Responsible for obtaining indirect materials, equipment and services- Gathers quotations, examines bids, and makes awards- Performs cost analysis and volume planning for commodities and specifically for several indirect materialCommodities for multiple Business Units- Evaluates vendor reliability, developing new supply sources where required Coordinates purchasing activitieswith facilities and engineering departments to support Operations- Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts or purchasing orders to assure best quality at bestvalue Recommends cost saving proposals including make vs buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor- evaluation criteria- Responsible for meeting and desirable exceeding expectations regarding the Indirect Procurement metrics,including but not limited to productivity, quality, delivery, consolidation of suppliers and driving the spend with- TE ´ s preferred and strategic suppliers.- Education:- Degree in Administration, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, International Business.- Experience:- At least 1 year of professional experience as buyer (Preferred in Indirect Materials).- SAP Systems is a plus.- Desirable knowledges in purchasing for electronics, aero- Purchasing for electronics, aerospace and/or automotive industries, coordination of projects to improve processesand to drive Cost Savings, able to work under stress, organized, results oriented.- Bilingual, or at least 85% of English written and spoken.Location: Hermosillo, Sonora.Travel: No required.Type: On-Site.**Competencies**:- Values: Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation
