-Job descriptionEquity Research Analyst will be responsible for analyzing listed companies to provide investment recommendations to institutional and private investors. Moreover, will work with Senior Associates and Analysts in various product areas within the Americas in learning to follow and analyze industry news flow, review SEC filings and other sources of financial information, develop and maintain earnings and valuation models, conduct research with industry and secondary sources as well as draft reports on relevant investment topics.Functions and Activities- Conduct and write industry research, including investment recommendations- Develop and maintain financial models- Follow and analyze industry news flow- Participate in earnings calls, meetings with corporates, and client meetings- Keep industry data files up to date- Management of Risk Each employee must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.- Each employee must ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.- Each employee must promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.Requirements**Requirements**:- BA/BS, all majors are considered; finance or economics is a plus- 1-2 years of experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking, or related is a plus- Superior quantitative, analytical, written, communication, and leadership skills are essential- High level of proficiency in Excel- CFA Level 1 is a plus- A second fluent language is required (esp.
