**Data & Analytics, Data Engineer Role****About the Job**:This role will help deliver a portfolio of data and analytics products which enable insights (through advanced analytics) for key business questions leveraging data technologies. The primary function of this role is to provide architectural and engineering guidance, technical recommendations and strategies that support the development and implementation of data warehousing and analytical reporting initiatives while also performing hands-on development and testing of their own products. Focus is on the design, development, testing and support of an end-to-end information architecture and strategy, playing a lead role on projects by providing the appropriate data architecture solutions and ensuring alignment with the overall data management strategies.**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:Impact on Business Results Contributes to business results by delivering Data Products with high value for the organization, unlocking new capabilities and ensuring high quality IT delivery.- Understand and maximize the value of data and how it fits in the overall strategy of the organization.- Deliver analytics capabilities in line with data architecture vision, strategy, principles, and standards; get buy-in from stakeholders, management, and business partners, and propagate throughout the organization based on corporate guidelines and procedures.- Design and develop solutions to integrate disparate data sources into a consistent data product.- Ensure design and development includes highly proficient, performant and accurate delivery.- Provide framework, stewardship, governance, and decision making for management of data for Product development teams, business users and other stakeholders.- Serve as an expert resource on matters of data architecture and engineering to business and technology team in all phases of analytics development, implementation, and support.- Balance short-term versus long-term actions, strategic versus tactical requirements, while continuing to move forward towards the strategic vision.- Incorporate the enterprise data management methodology and standards for data modeling and data architecture.**Process & Projects**- Deliver the product and turning the product vision into reality.- Review specifications, providing technical designs.- Design, develop, and test data products effectively and efficiently.- Optimize product development, minimizing the amount of effort required to maximize the value delivered to end-users.- Ensure data architectural adherence through blueprint, design and build reviews.- Create appropriate standards, processes and tools to promote and facilitate mapping of data sources and define integrative views of data.- Focus on data quality.- Put in place governance processes around meta-data to ensure an integrated definition of data for enterprise information, and to ensure the accuracy, validity, and reusability of meta-data.- Participate in developing consistent definitions for common reference data.- Establish measures to chart progress related to completeness and quality of meta-data for enterprise information, to support reduction of data redundancy and fragmentation, elimination of unnecessary movement of data, and improvement of data quality.- Trouble shoot and solve critical production issues.
