And that's where you come in:**About the role**As a Quality Assurance Engineer, your role is key to maintaining top-notch quality and performance for our APIs, web apps, and interfaces. You're part of one or two small cross-functional teams working on product and tech delivery. Your job involves creating a detailed quality assurance plan covering everything from functionality and security to performance and stress testing. This ensures our products meet both functional and non-functional requirements.**What you will do**:- Oversee the creation and execution of test strategies, plans, cases, and summary reports, ensuring the alignment with team objectives and risk management policies.- Lead manual acceptance API and UI/UX testing, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.- Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases, data validation, and automated scripts.- Execute and evaluate manual and automated test cases, documenting results and collaborating in an Agile environment with rapidly changing requirements.- Identify security vulnerabilities such as injection attacks, authentication bypasses, and conduct comprehensive security testing.- Serve as a Quality expert on your team assisting with troubleshooting and defect resolution.- Coordinate with your delivery team to explore automating manual testing and supporting user acceptance testing.- Operates within an environment utilizing tools such as Drone.io, AWS cloud technologies, GitHub, SumoLogic, Grafana, Selenium, and JMeter or K6 among others.- Contribute to release management processes, working closely with your team on deployment and version control tasks.**What you need to know/have**:- Experience in implementing and improving quality practices in a microservice, cloud architecture environment.- Proficient in software development and delivery practices with a deep grasp of software quality and CI/CD release management.- Demonstrated ability to drive a quality assurance program and manage change effectively.- Experience with security testing and understanding of security standards and challenges.- Proficiency in SQL and experience with a variety of testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, K6, Postman).- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including remote and geographically distributed members.- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively.- A continuous learner, keeping up with new practices and technologies in quality assurance.- Experience in an Agile, Lean, DevOps organization and culture.**Definitely a plus**:- Bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience- Quality Assurance and Testing Certifications, such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) Certification, Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), or Certified Software Tester (CSTE).**Get in on all the awesome of Instructure**:- Excellent benefits and perks, because we want you to be happy and healthy: access to our Modern Health Platform, PTO, maternity/paternity leave, childcare assistance, fitness and well-being allowances- iMacs or Macbooks- Most importantly, you get to work with a tight knit team who embrace innovation and are committed to being excellent at what they doWe’ve always believed in hiring the most awesome people and treating them right.
