The team you will be a part of

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a new Leadership role, to join the Central Quality in North America Region. The candidate will have an exciting opportunity to interact with global teams and functions across the Business Units, Product Categories, GSS, Consumer Services and Finance.

This role in summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality leader accountable to drive, manage the quality portfolio plan for existing products produced in Mexico for Refrigeration (Supsa and Ramos plant) , organizing cross-functional workshops for pipeline generation, leading data analysis and experiments for phenomena definition. 

Drive the complete CAPA flow execution, and the respective forecasts for quality and total cost (claims).

Your responsibilities will include

  • Common / Special Cause issue identification

    • Field data analysis, including claims, customer reviews, PEX and internal KPIs correlation (CAL, QAL and FPY)

    • Lead Critical Analysis reviews (take actions based on early signals)

    • Raise opportunities out of 4M1D as applicable for claims reduction

  • Phenomena Definition / Containment actions: Phenomena understand and lead containment actions implemented 

  • Quality Portfolio Management / Prioritization: Manage the 4M1D quality issues portfolio and align prioritization within Design, Manufacturing, GSS and Service.

  • Quality Forecast for Mexico Plants: GSIR LOS, Claims outlook and Profit Plans

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,  preferred.

  • Fluency in English

  • Technical Knowledge in Refrigeration Product / Experience in the Refrigeration SubSystem, preferred.

  • Strong experience in quality functions, P4G Quality, EPI (Existing Product Improvement) initiatives, NPI (New Product Introduction).

  • OPEX Master Black Belt (preferred) or Certified OPEX Black Belt

  • Project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team to drive high-quality results with sense of urgency.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Experience working autonomously with little oversight and making prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information.

  • Knowledge on quality KPIs (GSIR, TCQ, and 5-star).

  • Consistently demonstrates strong initiative to do better, even in complex situations and help the teams focused in the most important things 

  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify anomalies and trends in data quickly.
