We believe that our ability to meet the needs and expectations of an increasingly diverse and global customer base is closely linked to the diversity and inclusion that we experience within General Motors.**Experience/Education**:- 3 to 5 years of experience in Metallurgical Lab and Gear Manufacturing Processes- Metallurgic Engineering / Material Engineer degree or similar.- Fluent English.**Description**Responsible for development and implementation of the Gear's Heat Treatment Processes for Major Electric Drive Unit Projects.May supervise or exercise technical direction over engineering support personnel with specific Engineering objectives.Work is all Gear Manufacturing related and project planning and execution activities that come with a New Project Implementation.- Proposes and evaluates Gear Heat Treatment processes and equipment.- Provides technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.- Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions.- Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.- Directs the development and/or improvement of Heat Treatment process for an assigned area.- Ensure lessons learned are analyzed and documented.- Coordinate activities with other department's divisional offices and our customers and suppliers- Insure that manufacturing has accurate and detailed information on heat treat specifications to produce the part.- Perform heat treatment distortion studies in gear manufacturing and perform capability studies.- Analyze the gear heat treatment at all sites and ensure that all metallurgic characteristics are met.- Experience in metallurgical laboratories and gear manufacturing processes- Experience in heat treatment systems- **Work in site**:- **Monday to Friday**Diversity and inclusion are our strengths.
