Date: Nov 3, **** Location: San Andres Cholula, PUE, MX, ***** Functional Area: Remote Job Summary The SAP Basis Consultant is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the SAP technical environment. This role ensures the stability, availability, performance, and security of all SAP systems, including installation, upgrades, system copies, patches, and performance tuning. The consultant also collaborates with functional and development teams to provide seamless SAP operations and support. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.). Perform system copies, client copies, and SAP system refreshes. Manage SAP transports and ensure change management processes are followed. Monitor and tune SAP system performance, database parameters, and memory usage. Apply SAP Support Packages, kernel upgrades, and OSS notes as required. Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for SAP‑related issues. Administer databases supporting SAP systems (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.). Manage SAP user administration, roles, and authorizations. Ensure SAP systems meet security and compliance standards. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure high system availability. Participate in SAP upgrade and migration projects (including cloud or S/4HANA migrations). Provide on‑call support and resolve incidents within SLA timelines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Experience: 3–7 years of experience as SAP Basis Administrator or Consultant. Proven experience in SAP installation, configuration, and performance tuning. Hands‑on experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments is highly desirable. Technical skills: SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, and Solution Manager administration; OS and database (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, Linux/Unix, Windows) knowledge; SAP Landscape Management, backup/recovery strategies, and system monitoring tools; familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform or hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Soft skills: Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills; excellent communication and teamwork abilities; detail‑oriented with strong documentation skills. Preferred certifications: SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration (SAP HANA / S/4HANA); ITIL Foundation or equivalent certification. Why Syntax?
