Lead Engineer

**Job Description Summary**: Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.**Roles and Responsibilities**- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements- Provide technical leadership on the assigned project- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments- Work with teams to address organizational initiatives- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures**Required Qualifications**- This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & electrical hardware. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (or high school diploma/GED with 6 years' experience in Design Engineering and Electrical Engineering)- Strong experience developing of electrical/electronic components- In depth understanding of principles of sensing (temperature, pressure, acceleration, speed)- Ability to diagnosis technical issues in electrical systems and to develop practical solutions suitable for manufacture- Capable of developing and writing specifications for electrical components- Strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English- Effective handling of MS Office, Unigraphics is desirable**Desired Characteristics**- Strong interpersonal, leadership and oral and written communication skills- Facilitation and collaboration skills- Flexible and friendly approach to working in a team environment- Highly motivated and interested in being a self-starter with eye constantly on problem solving and driving solutions- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments- Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews- Lead multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met.- Check own and other people’s work- Lead the implementation of innovative analysis, design, development concepts, processes, and system solutions.- Define technical schedule cost and/or program requirements.- Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems- At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position**Desired Characteristics**- Strong oral and written communication skills.
