We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AWS - Site Reliability Engineer. Cybersecurity Research and Offensive Security provides an independent challenge to HSBC’s cybersecurity posture by bringing the attacker’s mindset to find and exploit vulnerabilities and to simulate real-world attacks. By delivering a suite of Offensive Security services, CROS discover weaknesses across people, process, and technology, enabling the Firm to better understand its exposure to cybersecurity attacks and to drive a proactive approach to protect itself and to manage risk more effectively. AWS- Site Reliability engineer will work within the global AWS Cloud Services team and will be responsible for supporting highly resilient, scalable, reusable, and performant AWS infrastructure. Reporting to the AWS SRE Lead and working across the AWS Cloud Services team, Cyber Security to ensure that the infrastructure we deliver are in a continuous state of improvement. We operate within a cloud native environment and have a mature DevOps Chapter that you will be working closely with to achieve reliability to DevOps velocity. Role purpose: You will serve as an SRE champion across infrastructure and application improvements. Monitor and manage HSBC AWS platform to enable application deployments. Monitor AWS service health alerts, product update and share with engineering team and business. Conduct root cause analysis for underlying issues and incidents that affect systems performance and availability, identifying and resolving errors to minimize re-occurrence. Update support and operational documentation as required. Monitor AWS support request queue, triage and assign to appropriate engineering team. Engineering activities to implement patches and support software package provided centrally. Input and make recommendations for improvement of our monitoring and incident response. Working with both technical and non-technical colleagues and responsible for ensuring business SLA/SLO’s are met and are ever improving. Be a recognised and trusted partner for business application owners and other technology teams who seek to make use of Cloud based infrastructure. Highlight areas of improvement within our infrastructure design for improve resilience and see these changes through to production with assistance from our feature delivery team. Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community. Support non-functional testing. Calificaciones - Internas Understanding of AWS Services (e.g. AWS EKS, AWS Cloud Watch, AWS SNS, AWS KMS, EC2, VPC, etc.) Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, C# and Python) Experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to a service. Understanding of CI/CD best practise – coding, tooling and techniques. Experience with incident management and problem solving. Experience and demonstrable accomplishments in selecting, designing and implementing automation and compliance frameworks.
