This role will be fundamental to the successful implementation of new products into our assembly plants. The Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Project Engineer will be a key member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) teams that are responsible for developing and launching new products. They will focus on ensuring the development team integrates new products into the assembly plant's systems and processes. A successful applicant will have demonstrated years of experience managing and successfully implementing projects simultaneously. Ideally, they will have experience with new product design, quality, cost reduction, and plant operations. If you enjoy the challenge of project management and new product introduction while collaborating with others, this may be the position you have been seeking. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Role will be focused on new product introduction but individual may also work on cost reduction projects as well as ensuring new products are designed with cost reduction in mind. Work with technical team on product design and development as well as the manufacturing team to ensure product meets the requirements of the plant. May be fully responsible for some product design aspects but will be fully responsible to ensure the product introduction to the plant is successful. Works with plant functional groups including maintenance, production, product engineering, materials, quality, and manufacturing to ensure product meets all safety, quality, and plant requirements. Work with the development team to ensure product is designed to be cost effective. Be the source expert for Rain Bird's new production introduction process and how it impacts the plant. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of hands-on engineering and project management experience B.S. in Engineering or technology discipline Experience working in a manufacturing environment Experience successfully managing multiple projects involving introduction of product or product changes into a manufacturing plant Solid understanding of identifying critical paths and project risks Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as a leader / facilitator and a participant Excellent theoretical and applied knowledge of design and mechanical engineering concepts as well as cost reduction methodology Working knowledge of CAD / CAE engineering tools Working knowledge of quality processes and root cause analysis methodology Ability to travel to various plants, vendors, and customer locations when necessary including international locations Ability to perform financial analysis and cost justifications Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks with mínimal supervision Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE, Lean Manufacturing, and process capability studies Well organized, enthusiastic, high energy, strong work ethic Strong English verbal and written communication skills DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Program management training or certificate Advanced Degree in Engineering or Business Management Experience with irrigation products / industry Technical supervisor / leadership experience Experience with plastic injection molded components HYSON PRIVACY CLAUSE Pay : $1.00 - $2.00 per month Ability to commute / relocate , Tijuana, B.C. : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required) Education Bachelor's (required) Experience hands-on engineering and project management : 10 years (required) Manufacturing environment : 5 years (required) SPC, FMEA, DOE, Lean Manufacturing : 5 years (required) Language English (required) #J-18808-Ljbffr
