Join us.Position will act as **Global Business Services (GBS) Region Controller **in charge of the following countries**:Canada****Job Purpose**:Provide business analysis, financial counsel and strategic planning/analysis support to the region/country financial stakeholders like business unit managers and Global Tax country managers and region directors.**Job Duties**:The Region Controller must have a comprehensive knowledge of business processes and systems. The individual must take this knowledge and provide financial leadership, training and support to the region, which has at least one or more technical disciplines like legal entity reporting, tax reporting, etc.**Financial Leadership and Coordination**:- Manage, coordinate and reduce financial reporting, tax and statutory risk.- Legal entity reporting for the region, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial results.- Bring visibility to potential issues, new activities and changes to key parties.- Foster collaboration across Global Finance Organization groups in an increasingly complex and matrix organization- Develop strong talent and provide opportunities for growth.- Report on a regular basis to upper-level management (GFO)- Work and collaborate very closely with the GBS Global Delivery hub based in Bangalore where all financial operations will take place.- Complex or unique accounting issues, which include accounts payable & receivable, inventory transactions and systems, tax issues, business resumption, and capital assets. These could also include interaction with local government entities.- Serves as the primary contact for resolving all accounting/general business-related issues and is the liaison between the region and local/corporate stakeholders.**Background / Experience**:- University Degree, preferably in business or accounting- 7-10 years of varied accounting, control and financial experience- Fluent English- Must have a valid visa and passport- Must demonstrate initiative, leadership, good judgment and superior communication skills- Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills- Must have proven record of success and accomplishments at lower levels- Prior supervisory experience- Travel Required 10%- Accounting certification- Ability to learn complex accounting methodologies**Final details**:**The Caterpillar Code of Conduct states that we will select and place employees based on their qualifications for the job to be performed, without regard to race, religion, national origin, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
