Job objective Steering and execution of planning and approval of new and complex production equipment in alignment with the product development process. Duties and responsibilities Agree targets with project or operations readiness managers in terms of quality, costs, and timing. Steer and execute in the development of production methods, check new systems for suitability as set by Hella-specific constraints and legal requirements. Advise development responsible concerning production-related options, improvements at new developments and modifications of products regarding optimum cost and quality joining and assembly design, and process design. Prepare suggestions for design of components suitable for production, identify concrete potentials for saving based on total cost of ownership. Plan complex operating equipment based on capacity and staff deployment plans, define type, extent, and number necessary production equipment. Determine internal capacities for construction of operating equipment, estimate costs, and prepare procurement suggestions. Define and describe manufacturing sequences, manufacturing capacities, and operating equipment data taking into account planning variables. Plan new manufacturing sequences and operating equipment with digitization tools such as MES, Hydra, iTAC. Continual editing, interpretation, and implementation of relevant technical information from internal and external partners. Evaluate risks using process FMEA and develop improvement actions. Involve in internal and external pre-series audits in production and quality assurance. Coordinate preparation of initial samples, monitor production, and carry out acceptance test checks. Act on escalation scenarios whenever deviations from targets occur in manufacturing engineering. Participate in technical implementation of production relocation and change management (EOP control, costing, feasibility analysis, scheduling). Project leadership Lead technical project teams according to Hella PEP or PMH regulations. Monitor the use of technologies, processes, and production equipment in running production; suggest and implement improvement and cost reduction actions. Establish, develop, and support global and regional networks. Leadership Deploy employees according to qualifications within the relevant structure. Guide, instruct, and support employees to fulfill tasks in a target-oriented and motivating manner. Participate in the hiring process and sustain team performance and evaluation. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in similar roles. Leadership experience. Problem-solving skills. Advanced English proficiency.
