This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity About the Organization Hecho por Nosotros (HxN) is a non‑governmental organization (NGO) with consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is dedicated to driving systemic change through the creative economy to create a more sustainable future. Hecho por Nosotros collaborates with micro, small, and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs), artisans, designers, online sellers, marketing experts, big brands, economic corporations, media, and more. The organization is led by Ashoka Fellow and founder Adriana Marina together with the social enterprise Animaná. Through a network of over 80 partners—including Ashoka, Globalizer, C&A Foundation, Ikea Entrepreneurship, Fabric of Change, UN, UNESCO, UNIDO, UNECE, IDB Network, the European Union, local governments and universities in Latin America, Africa (with a focus on Ghana and Nigeria), and international organizations—HxN promotes sustainable and ethical creative industries. Job Description HxN runs mission‑driven projects with a community‑first operating model. Distributed decision‑making, transparent financial management, clear rules, shared budget ownership, and reliable reporting are central to the work. Volunteers receive support to request, approve, spend, and report funds, and partners gain visibility and traceability of finances. Volunteer Logistics Estimated hours required per week: 15 – 20 Estimated duration of the project: 3 – 6 months Position is virtual (remote) Language Requirements English Spanish Desired Skills and Experience Financial operations leadership – budgeting, cash planning, month‑end close with clear owners and deadlines Process design and governance – building simple policies for spending, approvals, reimbursements, and documentation Internal controls and risk management – preventing errors and fraud with segregation of duties, checklists, and audit trails Treasury management – tracking cash runway, commitments, and payment scheduling to avoid liquidity surprises Reporting and performance tracking – producing dashboards for burn rate, budget vs. actual, and variance analysis with actionable insights Advanced spreadsheet skills – building structured models in Excel or Google Sheets, using pivot tables, validations, and error checks Tooling mindset – setting up workflows using Notion, Airtable, or similar tools to keep requests and approvals organized Stakeholder management – coordinating with project leads, explaining decisions, and keeping alignment across teams Communication and documentation – writing clear SOPs, templates, and guidelines so the team can execute consistently Integrity and confidentiality – handling financial information with high trust and strong ethics Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Volunteer Job Function Finance and Sales Industries Non‑profit Organizations For more information, please visit . #J-18808-Ljbffr
