Plus paid induction programme.**At International House London, we are excited to invite you to join our team for the upcoming Young Learner summer season.****Essential Requirements**:- Educated to GCSE standard 5 A*-C grades (including English and Maths) or equivalent.- Proficient English Speaker- IT literate (with focus on Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint)- Experience working with children.- ELT Management in residential environment- Experience in financial management/cash handling- Experience in team leadership and people management- Working with mixed nationality students- Experience in delivering high levels of customer service- Residential experience- Excellent interpersonal skills with a client focused approach- Ability to both lead and work as part of a team- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines- Excellent time management and organisational skills- Gifted and effective leader; being flexible, assertive, and discrete- Excellent project management skills and office management skills- Ability to problem solve in the moment- Satisfactory DBS check/Police Check.**Desirable**- CELTA/DELTA Qualification- Ability to speak other languages- First Aid qualified.- Safeguarding training.- Driving License**Company background**International House London has been running summer schools since 2011 across the UK. Over half of our 2024 cohort are hoping to return in 2025.In our very successful 2024 British Council inspection, strengths were highlighted in the following areas: strategic and quality management, staff management, student administration, premises and facilities, learning resources, academic staff profile, academic management, course design, teaching, care of students, accommodation, and leisure opportunities.Position informationThe Centre Manager is the most senior post at the Young Learners Centre where the postholder is expected to successfully manage all aspects of the day to day running of the centre; including overseeing and implementing a robust and effective welfare, academic, leisure and transfers programme.The Centre Manager is responsible for ensuring that the centre is set up and managed according to International House London policies and procedures, and that International House London are providing and delivering the high-quality service that our students, group leaders, agents and staff expect and deserve.The Centre Manager should be able to provide vision, leadership, support, and direction to all staff under their management as well as all students and group leaders attending our course, and maintain good communication and relationships with the host centre**Duties and responsibilities of all summer staff**:- Student Welfare and Safety_- Actively promote and safeguard the welfare of all students- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment- Stay vigilant and report any concerns about student well-being to appropriate staff members- Understand and adhere to all child protection and safeguarding policies- Pastoral Care and Student Support_- Provide emotional support and guidance to students adjusting to a new environment- Collaborate with other staff members to address individual student needsProfessional Conduct- Follow instructions and directives from line managers (DoS and CM) promptly and professionally- Contribute to a positive work environment by maintaining a cooperative and respectful attitude- Be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as assigned by your line managers- Adhere to all IHL Young Learners policies, procedures, and codes of conduct**Duties and responsibilities of Centre manager Centre management team and staff management**- Hold regular centre management team meetings- Ensure centre management team are well-prepared- Provide guidance to centre management team if necessary- Create centre management team rota- Ensure all new starter checks are completed and filed to the highest standard, compliant with legal requirements and our internal policy requirements- Assist departmental managements with any staff concerns or performance management needs- External clients_- Liaise with host centre regarding any operational issues- Hold regular meetings with host centre representative- Hold daily meetings with group leaders- Show agents around on site
